Aluminium awnings is widely popular throughout the world, as it has many benefits such as cool temperature, can be cut and assembled to any size and have a usable life of well over 40 years. It is also tough and stable compared to other awnings. They are usually painted with a baked-on enamel paint.

Retractable Awnings

Retractable awnings are now becoming very popular in some countries, as it includes photo-voltaic cells or roll-able solar panels to generate electricity. Retractable awnings include the following types:

  • Retractable patio cover system: These are waterproof and can be enclosed on the front and sides using solar shade screens. 
  • Retractable lateral arm awnings: These are new version of crank-up awnings. Tension arms and a roller bar are supported by a torsion bar, has square bars fitted into wall or fascia or roof mounted brackets that spreads the load to the wall or roof truss.
  • Retractable side or drop arm awnings: These awnings are commonly used to shade a window, with a roller tube on the top, spring arms, and a motors, crank or tape-pull operator. It provides the best sun protection around the house.
